“Protecting human rights in general and defending women’s rights, especially under the justification of habits, traditions and religion or even the country’s politics, is a responsibility on the international community, and a duty of humanity to guarantee the ability to defend the dignity of humans and the value of freedom, justice and equality between the whole society despite their gender. The existence of an international norm for violence against women will play a major role in applying the international agreements that were signed by many countries and will include defending and protecting the women’s right in being secured in her life, body, emotions, dignity and freedom through pressure on the governments to establish laws and punishments that addresses violence against women. I am in favor of an international binding norm on VAW.”
