I wholly support a  Global Treaty on Violence Against Women because there is a need for a legally binding document that incorporates the triumphs from past conventions and resolutions while providing innovative tools that will hold governments accountable to their most vulnerable citizens. When I think of VAW I think of women who are subjected to both physical and emotional torture and do not have a readily available means of recourse. A Global Treaty on VAW will provide mechanisms that will allow women around the world to feel empowered enough to speak out while addressing other important factors such as cultural, religious and traditional norms.
